Ride the Ducks
Yesterday Chris and I ventured out and rode the Ducks, they are a vehicle that goes both on land and water. The tour started at the space needle and the Frank Gehry Science Fiction Museum so we also hit up the Space Needle as well.
Gas Works Park
It was too expensive to remove the equipment from this gas factory so the city turned it into a park where most of the city goes to watch fire works on the 4th of July.
The Sleepless in Seattle house is the one on the far left, brown with green trim, it is currently on the market for 2.5 mill.

Ashley and Ken's Wedding
Chris and I just arrived back from a beautiful wedding. Our very special friends Ashley and Ken got married on Saturday. We want to wish them the best in their future together and we hope they enjoy their long honeymoon in St. Lucia. Here are a few photos I took, I couldn't take too many because I was a bridesmaid but please visit Rick Martin's blog to see more of the beautiful night.
This adorable piece of architecture sits in the back yard of Ashley's home where she grew up. I was told back in they day it was called a honeymoon cottage and it was used as the first home for newly weds. For Ashley's wedding we completely turned it into a beauty parlor.

Wine, Wine and more Wine!!!
As many of you know my husband is a huge beer snob so when he came home from the Reston Wine Festival with 1 ½ cases of wine I was in shock!!! I had sent him there with Adam to get him out of the house while I studied for my ARE exam and when he came back he was raving about all the great wine he tasted. I was jealous and upset that I had missed all that great wine, so when Aimee his wife invited us to dinner at a new wine bar in Reston, I knew we were all in. Located in the new Weston Heights, Vinifera had just opened a week before and we didn’t know what to expect, Zagot had raved about the food but didn’t give much detail about the place as a whole. As always Westin didn’t disappoint (as Aimee knows being the highest level Starwood member). The place was beautiful with its high ceilings and modern feel, however it was missing one key thing, people. Besides a large group of Asian travelers we really were almost the only ones there. We immediately glanced at the menu looking for the sample wines or flights as most wine bars call them, nothing….. This was a huge disappointment but after one visit from the sommelier “Buddy” we were back on the right track. We had explained that we came for the wine and wanted a complete tasting, we even offered to pay for a tasting but Buddy refused and proceeded to bring out a full tasting of both white and red. He explained everything about each wine, me not knowing much about wine just smiled and drank, some I loved and others I passed on to Chris. My favorite part about the whole thing were the glasses they served the wine in, it was a combination between a stemless wine glass and a shot glass. I was also impressed when they poured our wine into a decanter before serving it to us, very cool... Here are some decanters from Riedel that I love.

I have this bed!
Ikea again! Chris bought this bed years ago probably before we even started dating and we still are using it, partly because I can't commit to an acutal bedroom set and I don't know what I really want. But for the time being maybe I should paint mine green to match our all green bedroom, I love monochromatic rooms and I think this would really tie everything together, what do you think? yes or no?
This is our bedroom, I know it needs help.

Perfect combination
I swore I would never buy another thing from Ikea once I got married and I think I have broken that rule numerous times. I think the reason I keep going back is because it's adfordable and you don't feel guily if in a month you change your mind and buy something else. So once I saw this sideboard I fell in love. This side board sums up both my style and Chris' style all in one piece. It has the clean lines that Chris loves and the curves at the legs that I love. It also comes in yellow but I much more prefer the black, and if it came in white I might think about actually buying it.

Amazing!!!
I have finally found someone who loves baths as much as I do (and all the products that you put in the bath) Last night Mary introduced me to the Sabon products, she swears by their body scrub and even let me test it out on my hands. People, this body scrub is AMAZING!!!! My hands have never felt so soft, I can't wait for my next trip to NY so I can check out the whole store.
