Virgin America
Chris and I are starting to gear up for our vacation out West to Portland and Seatle. As part of the vacation we decided to fly Virgin America, they don't fly directly to Portland so we re-arranged the trip so we could fly to Seatle, spend a couple of days there and then drive to Portland, just so we can fly on this amazing airline. I can't wait, I HATE to fly but how can I not get excited about this amazingly cool airplane.

Roasted Chicken
One of my favorite Christmas gifts was the Bon Appetit Calendar. It's one of those desk calendars that has a new recipe for each day. I have to pat my self on the back because I think I have been pretty good about cooking us dinner every night (thanks to this calendar that gives me great ideas). On Monday night I cooked this beautiful Lemon Herb roasted chicken in my Martha Stewart Roaster. We received this roaster as a wedding gift and Chris thought I was crazy for putting it on the list, but it turns out we use it a lot more than we thought, it's definitely a must have in any kitchen.

Street of Eames- Portland
Last year my husband went to the Ruby on Rails conference in Portland, OR. He came back raving about how cool Portland is. So this year I begged him if we could go out there for the Street of Eames house tour, unfortunatly we didn't make it out there for the house tour but we are going to Portland in May for Chris to attend the Ruby on Rails Conference again. After seeing these picture on House Martins blog I am very jealous we were unable to go on the tour. All photos are from House Martin's blog and the Street of Eames website.
Name Change
One of the most inconvenient things about getting married was changing my name, I had no idea it was going to be so complicated. To get my drivers license changed I ended up going to the DMV 3 times. The first time I forgot my marriage license, the second time I waited 3 hours and then they told me…..”oh you have an out of state drivers license, we are going to need to see your passport” I almost jumped over the counter to tackle the lady. When I saw this cartoon this morning in the Express, I couldn’t resist ripping it out for memory sake.

Bachelorette Party
On Saturday night Ashley celebrated her last night as a single woman. Her wedding colors are pink and green so we all decided to wear them to unify us as a group. I love pink so originally I thought I would find a cute pink shirt but the second I walked into Banana Republic I fell in love with this adorable green and white shirt, unfortunately not the price. I instead went for a more casual look. Here is a cute group shot of us all wearing our pink and green. By the way, those margaritas are from Loreal Plaza which is the most AWESOME mexican restaurant in DC.
Tax Day!!!!
I think for next year Chris and I should organize all our tax information in these cool folders from Container Store

Doner's- German Food
Today we took a drive out to Leesburg to a place Chris heard about on the radio show Elliot in the Morning. They serve only Doner's which is a German version of a gyro. When Chris and I were in Germany we had Doners but had never come across a place here that served them in the US. So when we heard that this place opened a week ago we were all there, plus they serve German Beer, how could we resist. Here are a few pics from our Doner experience. It was well worth the trip plus it was a beautiful day!
They came on these cool trays, that is so Euro.

The start of Wedding Season
Chris and I received our first wedding invitation in the mail yesterday, from the second I saw it I got all giddy. There is just something about that first impression of the invitation that sets the mood for the entire wedding. For me the invitation for our wedding was very important, almost to the point where I got obsessed. I was constantly second guessing myself, did I want modern and fun, sleek and stylish or simple and traditional. It turns out we went with traditional but if I had the guts to go fun and modern I would have picked one of these 4 designs from KenzieKate. I actually bought some of her samples, but of course my mom convinced me they were too trendy and you only get one chance to have a formal fancy wedding invitation…… Moms are always right.
